Strategic blueprint to increase ROA

A global financial institution (GFI) was looking for a strategic partner offering long term support for a cross platform storage consolidation and reclamation strategy that involved nearly 2,000 servers and 76 EMC frames located in multiple regions around the world.
The GFI contracted with HDS for a two-phase technology refresh as part of the Storage Reclamation Service.
The GFI wanted to resolve a numbe rof operational and management issues related to storage including underused storage capacity, fragmented storage, and time-consuming migration among others.
This case study describes how the GFI worked with HDS to deploy thin provisioning to resolve migration issues without impacting user experience. HDS was able to reclaim stranded capacity through consolidation and thin provisioning.
