Teradata Introduces New ‘Rapid-Start’ Generative AI Use Cases with Amazon Bedrock Integration
Teradata VantageCloud Customers on AWS Can Immediately Start Implementing Gen AI Use Cases to Fast-Track Business Value and Accelerate ROI
Teradata has announced that it is strengthening its relationship with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to deliver “rapid-start” Gen AI (Generative Artificial Intelligence) use cases when leveraging Teradata VantageCloud on AWS, integrated with Amazon Bedrock.
A fully managed AWS service, Amazon Bedrock allows enterprises to quickly adopt the latest Gen AI innovations with easy access to their choice of high-performing foundational models from leading AI companies such as AI21 Labs, Anthropic, Cohere, Meta, Mistral AI, Stability AI, and Amazon. When combining VantageCloud’s open and connected framework with Amazon Bedrock, enterprise customers can rapidly leverage the foundational models of their choice with data in VantageCloud.
Gen AI has spurred numerous innovations across industries. However, realising its true business value requires proven use cases deployed on a trusted and scalable analytics and data platform. According to a recent survey of C-suite executives and AI leaders conducted for Teradata by NewtonX, 84 percent of AI executives say that they expect to see results from AI projects within a year of deployment. For organisations to see this kind of accelerated ROI from their AI investments, they need to be able to quickly and efficiently deploy trusted Gen AI use cases.
Teradata Innovation Gives Customers Access to Gen AI Use Cases
With this integration, Teradata customers gain access to a large repository of 60+ Gen AI use cases across various functions and industries to deliver exceptional customer experiences, boost employee productivity, and streamline business processes. Customers can rapidly implement these use-cases with VantageCloud’s open and connected Gen AI capabilities integrated with Amazon Bedrock’s foundational models by leveraging VantageCloud’s highly scalable APIs to access Amazon Bedrock’s foundational models with the data in VantageCloud.
These APIs, coupled with VantageCloud’s integration and operationalisation capabilities, are designed to enable the implementation of Gen AI use cases with high scale and low relative cost. In addition, Teradata provides solution-specific accelerators which customers can leverage to fast-track implementation of Gen AI use cases.
“Our customers seek to expedite the return on their AI investments by efficiently and cost-effectively deploying business solutions, leveraging Generative AI, into production,” said Dan Spurling, Senior Vice President, Product Management, at Teradata. “On the heels of our recent BYO-LLM announcement, this integration with Amazon Bedrock continues our momentum in the Gen AI space and underscores Teradata’s commitment to being the most powerful, open and connected analytics and data platform for AI – giving customers the flexibility and choice they desire, to implement their generative AI strategies.”
As part of this integration, Teradata VantageCloud is using the teradatagenai python package which introduces multiple easy-to-use functions that encapsulate API calls for commonly used text analytics. When used in conjunction with Amazon Bedrock, multiple real-world Gen AI use cases—from helping customers discover retail items faster to customer insurance contract information retrieval to customer complaint analysis—are unlocked to deliver tangible business value.
