Malaysia’s Systech, Pinetop Technology Venture Seal New Data Centre Partnership
The Two Malaysian Firms Will Share Expertise in This Collaboration
Malaysian IT services firm Systech recently announced in a stock exchange filing that it has formed a data centre partnership with local IT services firm Pinetop Technology Venture.
As per the filing, Systech’s wholly-owned subsidiary, SysAIU, had entered into a collaboration agreement with Pinetop Technology Venture for the establishment, development, and operation of data centres.
Pinetop is a private limited company incorporated in Malaysia involved in the development and operation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) data centres and the development of information technology software, including the design and build of web mobile applications and large language models (LLM).
Details of the Systech-Pinetop Collaboration
As per the agreement, Pinetop will be responsible for provisioning of technical support and know-how on the operation of an AI data centre, including the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and servicing of high performance GPU infrastructure and servers as well as developing required applications and software includes generating AI applications, computing vision and image recognition and others, to enhance the value proposition of an AI data centre.
Meanwhile, SysAIU will be responsible for sourcing all required equipment and infrastructure for the project, including without limitation graphics processing units (GPUs), servers, storage systems, networking equipment, cooling systems, and power supply units. It will also take point in overseeing the installation, configuration, maintenance and upgrading of the infrastructure and equipment to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and compliance with industry standards.
