Singapore-based Eastern Pacific Shipping Implements Workday to Accelerate HR Transformation for Technology-Driven Growth
Workday, a leader in enterprise cloud applications for finance and human resources, today announced that Eastern Pacific Shipping (EPS), a leading ship management company headquartered in Singapore, has successfully deployed Workday to transform its HR processes in an effort to accelerate technology-driven growth and improve its employee experience. The company has physical offices spanning six countries globally and a fleet of 250 vessels with 23 million deadweight tonnes.
By implementing Workday Human Capital Management (HCM), EPS has centralised employee and expense data for more than 400 employees in its workforce, reducing the possibilities for human error and inconsistencies. EPS is now able to achieve greater efficiencies in both decision-making and reporting through data-driven insights.
“Amid rapid industry growth and the fact that our employees are distributed across various offices, it is critical that they are equipped with the tools needed to make precise, data-backed decisions in the most efficient way possible,” said Lynnette Wee, HR manager, EPS. “Having operations in different jurisdictions can often prove tricky, as each jurisdiction has unique HR processes that would require more time to navigate. Our collaboration with Workday has been instrumental in aligning and standardising various HR operational processes. We are confident that such measures have enabled our employees to perform their duties with greater clarity and precision.”
“We are proud to be EPS’s trusted technology partner and supporting their digital transformation goals,” said Pannie Sia, general manager, ASEAN, Workday. “Through the adoption of such innovative solutions, organisations like EPS are able to reap greater efficiencies, empower their workforce, and deliver an improved employee experience no matter where they are across the globe. This enables them to optimize the time, talent, and energy of their employees in this rapidly changing world.
“The intuitive and adaptable nature of Workday means that EPS’s employees now have greater autonomy to update their personal information and initiate requests or approvals for expenses. This in turn reduces the administrative workload of EPS HR teams, allowing them to focus on higher value tasks. Workday also enables EPS to improve its processes in areas such as employee onboarding as well as continuous learning and development.
EPS has implemented Workday Talent Optimisation, Workday Learning, and Workday Expenses. Later this year, EPS is looking to foster greater employee development and engagement by implementing Workday Peakon Employee Voice, which will provide managers with real-time visibility into employee sentiment and provide insights needed to take immediate action to help drive organisational change and growth.
