OutSystems Accelerates Siam Kubota’s Modernisation to Drive Agricultural Innovation

By leveraging OutSystems AI-powered low-code platform, Siam Kubota reduces its application development timeline to less than six months to drive the future of sustainable agriculture.

OutSystems, a global leader transforming how companies innovate through software, is enhancing Siam Kubota‘s digital transformation journey by modernising its dealer network management and internal workflows. The sustainable agriculture pioneer is utilising AI-powered low-code to interconnect operational systems existing in silos, and rapidly deploy applications to meet the needs of its growing network of 315 dealers and employees, while reducing dependency on external vendors.

Digitalisation within the agricultural industry has enabled a remarkable transformation for the sector, as new technologies solve decade-old business challenges such as sustainable farming. However, despite the rapid uptake of digital technology, Thailand faces a talent crunch, with estimates indicating only 1% of the population – or around 580,000 individuals – are experts in digital skills.

This shortage has become a major obstacle for many businesses, including Siam Kubota, where a combination of retiring developers and outdated knowledge transfer practices led to a reliance on external vendors to manage critical systems. Over time, this resulted in a patchwork of fragmented applications built on disparate tech stacks, which are costly to maintain and lack the agility to support evolving business needs, hindering long-term scalability. To address these challenges, the company turned to OutSystems to develop their solution.

By optimising its technology infrastructure, reducing reliance on outdated tools, and overcoming vendor lock-in, Siam Kubota has achieved greater operational agility. The result is faster development, with several scalable and customised internal and external applications that were delivered in less than six months, including:

  • Dealer’s Award System: Used for scoring and assessment to reward dealers.
  • Billboard Management Application: Streamlines the process of managing billboard requests for advertisements at shops.
  • Claim Management System: Optimises the processing of claims to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Promotion and Incentive (P&I) Workflow: Designed from scratch to handle incentives and promotions effectively, shortening timelines and improving transparency.
  • Kubota Excellence Service Application: Utilised for evaluating dealers’ services and their shops.
  • Data Request Control System: Enables staff to request sensitive data securely.

“Modernising our operations was essential to address evolving business needs and empower our dealer network. By consolidating workflows and developing tailored applications, we have reduced dependency on external vendors and significantly improved efficiency. This transformation aligns with our mission to drive sustainable agricultural solutions and support farmers across the region,” said Methee Srisupundit, Digital Technology Division Manager at Siam Kubota.

The adoption of OutSystems has yielded substantial outcomes for Siam Kubota, including reducing incentive payment timelines from months to weeks and improving operational flexibility. Siam Kubota’s digital transformation journey reflects a broader industry trend highlighted by a recent IDC InfoBrief, which found that 68% of APAC businesses are prioritising low-code tools to modernise legacy systems and improve efficiency.

“Siam Kubota’s journey exemplifies how organisations can overcome legacy challenges and achieve tangible results through modern development tools. Adopting low-code has enabled Siam Kubota to accelerate innovation, streamline operations, and strengthen its ability to lead sustainable farming practices. We are proud to have collaborated with Siam Kubota in making inroads towards a sustainable agricultural ecosystem in Southeast Asia,” said Arnold Consengco, Regional Vice President, South East Asia and Greater China Region at OutSystems.

Looking ahead, Siam Kubota plans to expand its use of OutSystems by fully migrating all internal and external applications to the platform. Future projects will focus on elevating supply chain operations and simplifying processes, bolstering Siam Kubota’s position as a regional leader in sustainable agricultural innovation and technology adoption.
