Kintone AI Lab Empowers Thailand’s SMBs in Data Utilisation and Workflow Management

Kintone (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (Kintone Thailand) has announced the launch of Kintone AI Lab, a new, free beta service designed to empower Small and Medium-Sized Businesses (SMBs) in Thailand to develop custom AI-powered applications without needing developers or coding experience.

Kintone AI Lab embeds generative AI (Artificial Intelligence) directly into its platform, where users can design applications and manage workflows using simple, conversational chat commands. This launch directly addresses the significant hurdles SMBs in the region face, including the high cost of custom software, the complexity of digital transformation, and the persistent shortage of skilled IT talent.

Per the World Bank, Thailand’s SMBs could lead the nation’s digital future by addressing a critical skills gap. Close to 3 out of 4 (74.1 percent) of Thai youths have yet to develop foundational digital skills. With around 1 percent of the population possessing advanced digital talent, SMBs in particular could drive growth through employee training, mentorship, and digital adoption, including with AI-powered tools.

By bridging this divide, Thai businesses can not only boost their own innovation and competitiveness, but also unlock an estimated 3.3 trillion baht in national economic potential, a substantial contribution to its GDP per the International Institute for Management Development (IMD).

How Kintone AI Lab Works

Kintone AI Lab provides early access to a growing suite of AI capabilities, allowing for real-world feedback to shape practical, people-first tools. Initial functions include:

• AI App Creator: Users can simply describe their needs in a chat window—such as “I need an app to track customer inquiries”—and the AI will interpret the request and suggest appropriate application structure and fields.
• AI Process Creator: This feature assists users in setting up complex workflows and approval processes through an intuitive chat-based conversation, turning manual tasks into a more streamlined and efficient system.

By empowering existing employees to replace paper-based records and inefficient manual processes, Kintone AI Lab enables businesses to start small, achieve quick wins, and scale their digital transformation at a sustainable pace.

Enterprise-Grade Security and Data Governance

Placing powerful tools into the hands of more employees makes robust data governance paramount. Kintone AI Lab is built to address prevalent security and data privacy concerns with an enterprise-grade framework that includes strict permission controls managed through Kintone’s administrative settings. It also guarantees that user data is never used to train external generative AI models. The service is built on Cybozu’s trusted, enterprise-grade infrastructure platform.

Kintone AI Lab is available as a free beta service to all Kintone customers in Thailand starting August 19, 2025. Users can activate the service and select desired AI features within their Kintone settings. Additional AI capabilities are set to roll out soon as Kintone AI Lab continues to evolve.
