Key Hybrid Multi-Cloud Trends From Q2 FY23 Unveiled by Nutanix at Virtual Media Briefing

Recently, Nutanix hosted a virtual media briefing to discuss significant trends observed during Q2 FY23 in the Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) region. Aaron White, General Manager and Vice President of Sales at APJ, shared insights gleaned from customer feedback and perspectives on enabling customers to efficiently build, operate, govern, and run applications across diverse environments, all while maintaining robust security and compliance.

In Q2 FY23, Nutanix achieved ACV billings of USD $268 million, a 23% year-over-year increase, and a record free cash flow margin. The company also announced the availability of its AOS™ 6.6 software release, enhancing data services and simplifying networking and security for the Nutanix Cloud Platform. Furthermore, Nutanix introduced its Nutanix Cloud Platform Container Solution, empowering enterprises to deliver Kubernetes-based applications with agility and simplicity. Nutanix revealed details of its annual .NEXT user conference, scheduled for May 9-10, 2023 in Chicago, IL – the first in-person conference in three years.

Aaron claimed that there were three prominent key trends in Q2 FY23, driven by the growing adoption of hybrid multi-cloud and enterprises losing visibility over their data storage locations:

  1. Sobering up from the COVID hangover and getting down to business: Organisations are prioritising cloud migration and building cloud-native applications in Kubernetes for scalability and availability.
  2. Scalability and uniformity win the race to the cloud: Enterprises seek a scalable platform to manage applications uniformly across multiple cloud platforms or applications.
  3. Managing the sprawl for uncompromising cloud freedom: Organisations are developing custom hybrid cloud strategies to address specific pain points, ensure compliance, and manage cloud costs.

Several customer success stories, including Future Generali (India), BJB Syariah (Indonesia), Australian Institute of Aboriginal Torres Strait Island Studies (Australia), Olam (Singapore), and YAOI (Taiwan), were highlighted by Aaron during the briefing, showcasing improved application response times, zero downtime, and cost reductions with Nutanix solutions.

According to Nutanix’s latest Enterprise Cloud Index study, 60% of IT teams leverage multiple IT infrastructures, expected to grow to 74% in the near future. Data security, protection and recovery, sovereignty, and distribution across environments are among the key drivers for enterprises making infrastructure decisions.
