CTOS SME Biz Day Debuts in Kuching to Spark Digital Transformation for Sarawak Businesses

First Stop in East Malaysia to Empower Small and Mid-Sized Businesses

CTOS SME Biz Day 2025 is making its first-ever stop in East Malaysia to empower Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) with the knowledge, tools, and networks needed to unlock their full business potential. Taking place on 19 August 2025 at Imperial Hotel Kuching, the event is set to be a catalyst for business growth and resilience. With Sarawak rapidly emerging as a key driver of Malaysia’s economic future, this event offers SMEs a timely opportunity to future-proof their operations and scale with confidence.

CTOS SME Biz Day is set to break down barriers for small businesses by tackling some of their most pressing challenges, such as limited access to financing, digital skill gaps, and navigating complex regulations. Through expert guidance, government grant insights, and transformative business development training, the event will empower entrepreneurs to unlock new pathways for growth and innovation.

Sarawak Is Fast Emerging as a Powerhouse In East Malaysia

Under the Sarawak Digital Economy Blueprint 2030, the state targets 80% SME and micro-entrepreneur digitalisation by the end of the decade, with RM56.4 billion expected to be contributed to GDP from business activities alone. With 74,000 SMEs across the state and nearly 40% already undergoing digital transformation, the CTOS SME Biz Day is timely in empowering local Sarawakian businesses to accelerate this momentum.

“Kuching is a growing hub with strong potential, especially in the SME and export-driven sectors. This stop on our SME Biz Day journey reflects our commitment to supporting that growth and being present where it matters. From Kuala Lumpur to Penang, Johor, and now here in Sarawak, we’ve had the opportunity to work alongside partners who share our belief in the power of SMEs. Together, we’re building a connected ecosystem, one that brings together the tools, knowledge, and support SMEs need to grow confidently. CTOS is proud to contribute not just as a solution provider, but as a long-term partner in digital transformation,” said Lee Shin Mei, COO of CTOS Data Systems Sdn Bhd

Driving SME Growth Through Digital Tools, Grants, and Expert Guidance

Through curated panel sessions and trending digital solutions, the event will guide businesses in leveraging government grants and development opportunities offered by key agencies such as Agensi Kaunseling dan Pengurusan Kredit (AKPK), Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation Berhad (SDEC) & SME Corp. These offerings will be complemented by three high-impact panel discussions designed to encourage strategic thinking and provide participants with practical approaches to business growth. Topics will include:

  • Everything You Need to Know About E-Invoicing: Stay informed on the upcoming implementation of e-invoicing for SMEs and the essential steps that businesses must take before it becomes mandatory.
