Arise by INFINITAS and Google Cloud to Drive Open Platform Innovation, Foster Tech Talent, and Enhance Financial Inclusion in Thailand

At the Google Cloud Bangkok Summit 2023, Arise by INFINITAS (“Arise”), a leading FinTech company, announced a collaboration with Google Cloud to accelerate its development of an Open Platform that will enable financial inclusion and deliver other essential services. This Open Platform is built on flexible and scalable infrastructure to meet the needs of partner businesses. In addition, Arise and Google Cloud are working together to equip individuals in Arise’s technology talent incubator with specialised digital skills, so they can apply cuMing-edge technology to help address the diverse needs of all Thais.

This latest collaboration will build on the successful launch of the Pao Tang and Tung Ngern mobile applications during the COVID-19 pandemic, with Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) playing an important role in getting these applications into the hands of 30 million Thai consumers and many small business owners and enterprises. By choosing to operate its internal IT workloads and applications on Google Cloud’s energy-efficient infrastructure, Arise is reducing these workloads and applications’ carbon footprint and contributing to the company’s goal of reducing its operational carbon emissions.

Jakkrit Klinsmith, Chief Executive Officer, Arise by INFINITAS, said: “Google Cloud’s dynamic autoscaling capabilities and developer-friendly tools truly came to the fore when our teams were working remotely and tasked with spinning up applications for administering financial assistance. The Pao Tang mobile application now has over 30 million users – a significant milestone. Arise is now collaborating with Google Cloud to transform Pao Tang into an Open Platform. The goal of this move is to provide all Thais with an enhanced customer experience and inclusive access to financial services. Furthermore, Pao Tang will offer third-party lifestyle products for improving users’ quality of life. Google Cloud’s leadership in open source, sustainability, and nurturing a future-ready workforce will support the co-creation of the innovation ecosystem that is needed to achieve our company’s vision.”

Arise aims to attract and retain top talent and foster a culture of innovation and creativity. The company has adopted Google Workspace, enabling its employees to collaborate and communicate efficiently, flexibly, and securely regardless of their location or device preference.

To provide Arise’s partner network with access to specialised digital skills and expertise, Google Cloud and Arise are working together to launch training and certification programs for graduates and mid-career professionals. The goal is to cultivate a talent pool with deep proficiency in cuMing-edge technology to support Thailand’s digital economy.

April Srivikorn, Country Manager, Thailand, Google Cloud, said: “APIs and a vibrant talent ecosystem are crucial components for driving innovation at scale, enabling an organisation and its network of partners to develop new experiences for end-users rapidly and cost-effectively. Through its API-first strategy and workforce development initiatives, Arise is facilitating the creation of digital products and services that can reach a diverse range of people to help them improve their financial wellness and get closer to meeting their life goals. We look forward to supporting Arise’s efforts to better serve the unbanked and underbanked, while it scales for growth and empowers the workforce of the future.”
