Collaborating with the Digital Economy Promotion Agency to Support the ‘Thailand 4.0’ Strategy by Equipping Thais with the Latest IT Skills, Helping Transform the Country into a Value-Based, Innovation-Driven Economy and Expanding Its IT Talent Pool

Oracle and the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (DEPA), part of Ministry of Digital Economy and Society (MDES), have announced a collaboration to provide skills development training for up to 100,000 students and professionals in Thailand by 2028 to enhance employability and support career advancement.
Through this collaboration, 100,000 students and professionals at different stages of their learning and professional goals can gain access to digital training material and foundational certifications to help prepare them for jobs of the future. This includes access to over 200 hours of learning programs on several technologies such as Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Oracle AI services, OCI Generative AI, OCI Data Science, Oracle APEX, OCI DevOps, and Oracle Security, along with complete structured learning paths.
“This initiative aligns with DEPA’s mission to build a digitally skilled workforce that can thrive in a rapidly evolving economy,” said Dr Passakon Prathombutr, Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at DEPA “Through this joint program with Oracle we are expanding access to cloud and Artificial Intelligence (AI) training to help close Thailand’s digital skills gap. The courses are aligned with our Digital Skill Roadmap, a key initiative for nationwide upskilling, supported by tax incentives. It’s a co-led public-private collaboration in supporting Thailand’s digital transformation.”
The program will be delivered for free as a digital learning experience through Oracle MyLearn, Oracle’s comprehensive training and enablement platform from Oracle University, used by millions of technology trainees around the world. It offers rigorous foundational training in cloud technologies, leading to professional-level training, certifications, and additional training that will be individually curated based on learning levels and educational goals. It can also provide learners with a foundation in cloud computing and a better understanding of other core concepts such as AI, Machine Learning, data science, and blockchain.
In addition to professional certifications, learners can also earn badges that demonstrate their readiness for specialised job roles, making it easier for employers to identify qualified candidates and support job placement efforts.
“Backed by decades of data expertise and a unique full stack of cloud-based AI, Oracle continues to drive business growth while reinforcing our commitment to advancing digital skills across the industry,” said Taveesak Saengthong, Managing Director at Oracle Thailand. “With Thailand’s digital economy projected to grow by 7.3 percent this year, it’s imperative that the development of the national talent pool keeps pace by ensuring the cultivation of a highly skilled, future-ready workforce. By collaborating with the Digital Economy Promotion Agency to help enhance digital literacy across the workforce and the launch of AIS Cloud, we aim to foster a vibrant digital ecosystem that helps bring the power of AI to Thai communities and connects cutting-edge technology with top-tier talent.”
